You know those songs that the moment one of your friends references one of them you all start singing it? My friends have a few, but this is by far my favorite.
It's not the end of the world but you can see it from here.

I done been tagged!
Dave Natan tagged me in that thing that been going round and round. Oh! So here we have some questions. Let me tackle these one at a time.
1. What is the thing that you are most scared of?
I'm terrified of that mid-haze moment of clarity where I look down at my cup or into that paper and ask myself "What am I doing this?" only to instantly receive an answer from myself. The answer is always "Because I'm lonely."
2. What is your favourite book?
My favorite book is Mother Night by Kurt Vonnnegut. It's a story about a Nazi radio propagandist who is actually a spy for the U.S. government. After the war he comes to America and is unable to get an admission of his employment from the government so he gets arrested by Israeli government.
3. What is your favourite movie?
Re-Animator. I'm a big fan of H. P. Lovecraft and this film is a perfect comedy/horror mix and does justice to the work of Lovecraft.
4. What is your favourite TV series?
Breaking Bad, by far. I don't even watch TV, but I have watched every single episode of Breaking Bad online. Bryan Cranston has simply outdone himself as Walt White.
5. What is your favourite video game?
Banjo-Kazooie. I loved the Hell out of that game when I was a kid and then I never really lost the shine I had for it. It'll always be the most fun most creative platformer I have ever played and you can bet that if a true sequel in the series ever came out I'd be the first person in line to buy it.
6. What is your favourite color?
7. What is your favourite food?
8. What is your go-to recipe if you don't have much time to cook?
Beef Ramen with 5 bullion cubes in it.
9. What is your favourite thing to blog about?
Music. It's really the only thing I blog about.
Like Kurt Vonnegut said-
If I should ever die, God Forbid, let this be my epitaph:
THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED
FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD
WAS MUSIC.
10. On which probe do you spawn a Warp Gate?
Probe #133766613 Is near Tralfamador so I want to pop through there soon and check out the zoo.
11. If all of A is B and some of B is C, then would you feel like I've offended your intelligence,
if I asked, if some of A is also C?
No, but it is.
Rule#1: Put the rules on your blog.
Rule#2: Every person tagged should tell 11 things about themselves, answer the 11 questions asked by the one that tagged you, tag 11 other people and ask them 11 different questions.
Rule#3: Let the people whom you tagged know you've done so.
Rule#4: Don't tag anyone who's been tagged before.
Rule#5: Really do tag 11 others, don't go all ''if you want to take this tag''.

It's Burzday!
Today is the birthday of Varg Vikernes. For those of you who don't know- Varg is a black metal musician who was the sole member of black metal act Burzum and for a time was the bassist of Mayhem. That kind of ended when he killed the guitarist, Euronymous, by stabbing him twice in the head, five times in the neck, and sixteen times in the back. (Euronymous had been threatening to kill him for quite some time and had made a move to do it.)
After this murder he was convicted of murder and 4 counts of arson. He received a 21 year sentence of which he served 15.

Here's a photo of him at the time of his sentencing.
And here he is now!
The idea of Burzday being celebrated on his birthday came from a .gif someone made. This .gif is made of footage from the same documentary as the above video.
I don't remember exactly, but I think he was actually talking about people running to take their pills in prison.
And so... HAIL BURZUM! IT'S BURZDAY!

What was your favorite song when you were five?
When we're kids we all listened to the music our parents listened to. Which, for me, was a lot of this. These are some of the things my mother listened to when I was growing up. (I was raised by a single mother.)
My first name is Dylan, guess why.
And she says she doesn't know where I find the weird music I listen to.
Now, I must tell you guys this now. My mother is awesome as fuck. I'd go anywhere with my mom. She is, always has been, and always will be my best friend and my biggest supporter.
She's the only person that didn't get pissy when I became an English major.
And when I was a kid I liked movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Labyrinth and things like that. So one day she had one of her friends record a VHS tape of a music video she thought I'd appreciate. I went through three copies of this tape, I wore the damn things out every time. This was my favorite song when I was five. Tell me what yours was!
BONUS: Here's a video from my first concert. (That I went to with my mom.)
WARNING: INCOMING HORRIFYINGLY LOUD VIDEO WITH BAD QUALITY

With the looming apocalypse, and all...
So, we all know there are people saying that the world is going to end or that everything is going to change come 12-21-2012. We know it's not, but there are still people in hysterics about it. Bah! Anyway, I plan to spend the eve of the apocalypse sitting on the highest point I can reach, I'm going to crack open a cold one and watch the sun come up, just to see if I sears the flesh from my body. I plan to listen to the entirety of this album-
This is from a Gay Pride parade in Chicago. The men who are fully clothed are from a religious organization and they are holding signs that say things like "I'm sorry for how the church has treated you." And with the embrace those men shared walls came down, even if it was only for them. This picture gave me hope for humanity for the first time in years.
This photograph is from Nigeria, and it's Christians standing guard while Muslims pray. I believe that we're approaching a point where man is going to realize that...
I'm not naive enough to believe this is all going to happen at once, or even in my life time, but I have hope. I see a light at the end of the tunnel. We need to let love and compassion guide our lives.
God bless you, readers. Whether you believe in God or not is irrelevant. Please don't get offended by that phrase, because it is a universal expression of good will and love. Replace "God" with whatever deity(ies) you might believe or not believe in, replace it with "The Universe" if you will. We're all children of the same universe and I hope one day all men will realize that.
Then this song...
Then this one...
Why do this if I don't believe the world is ending? Because I embrace the idea. I believe that if enough people believe that the world is going to change irrevocably it might just do it. Not because of the Mayan calendar cycle but because in the hearts and minds of man we know something has to change. We can no longer afford, as a species, to separate ourselves the way we have. The reason I believe this is because of pictures like these.

2012 in Music
So, a few days ago I saw something on Facebook that made my heart skip a beat.
I checked Bill Ward's Facebook page and sure enough, he did politely decline. He wants to work on the album. He wants to tour with Black Sabbath. But a contract has not been drawn up that he can sign in good conscience. He's very kindly not pointing fingers, and it really doesn't sound like he's blaming the rest of the band. Well, Hell.
What else do we have coming out this year?
Well, according to The Space Lab we may be seeing new Nine Inch Nails at some point in the near future. Now, don't get too excited. It could end up getting shelved or used as material for another of Reznor's projects.
Then, on the 29th of May we're gonna get a new ICP album.
This is the point where my hands started shaking.
So... errr... new Black Sabbath album, it seems? Awesome. Then... sadly...
:(

I can dream.
Later this month we have a new Sinead O'Connor album coming out. My mother will be excited about that one. Sinead O'Connor is probably most famous for this little event...
OH AND WHAT HAVE WE HERE!? NEXT MONTH!?
Is that... oh, yes, it is! A new Meat Loaf album!
(Those guest artists kind of scare me, though.)
I can't wait. Fuck you if you don't like it.
Then we've got some things that I can't find a lot of information about. But! We have upcoming new albums from some other acts I get excited about-
Tenacious D
Public Enemy (Two releases this summer, actually.)
Rush
Tyler, The Creator
The Offspring
Marilyn Manson
Soul Asylum
THE BEACH BOYS!?
Alas, all is not awesome in the 2012 music, though. Maroon 5 is shitting out another album, probably holding hands with Bring Me The Horizon under the stall wall. Same for Franz Ferdinand, Matchbox 20, Muse, Soundgarden, U2... Good to know some things never change.

WHY DO I LIKE THIS!?
So, if you guys remember I was pretty on the fence about Tyler The Creator's album Goblin. I liked a few tracks, disliked some more, meh. But my girlfriend showed me a track he was on recently and... oh dear. I like this song a lot. Not so much the style but the actual lyrics. One line in particular that I enjoy is "I'll sniff a fucking unemployment line of cocaine." But hey! Here's the song. I like it.
I still wanna know what Tyler's beef with Bruno Mars is.
