Looks like an upstanding gentleman, right?
Gorgoroth, along with Burzum, Darkthrone, Immortal, Emperor, and similar artists formed the "second wave" of black metal in Norway in the early nineties. These bands all had similar trappings- corpse paint, Satanic/occult/violent lyrics, lo-fi recording processes, screeched vocals, KISS-style costumes, and an evil aesthetic that ranged from the serious to the bizarre. These brave and strange men changed the face of music forever, becoming adored by their fans and hated by more people than any band other than perhaps Insane Clown Posse.
Numerous crimes were attached to the black metal scene, church burnings and the like. They also seem to have a fascination with fantasy literature, "Gorgoroth" being the name of a dark plateau in Mordor in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Also... Latin album titles, Latin album titles EVERYWHERE.
And so, I leave you with one of my personal favorite Gorgoroth tracks, and a song I have personally made vicious love while listening to. (That was a good night.)
Also sorry for my infrequent posts lately, I've been extremely busy.
Never really been into this kind of metal. I think there is something about it that, ultimately, it more about image than music.

this is just a piece of the overall metal tapestry. i make a rule that if i cant understand what the lead singer is saying, i cant listen to them. i like to hear the story or message the metal tells.
