Sorry

Sorry, I've been gone for a while, but I had a pretty jam packed busy weekend full of nothing but... well.

So, while I'm here I might as well talk about Andrew W. K. I don't particularly like him. Not that he's not a good musician or anything, but his music just kind of feels the same way Metallica's does- just doing the same thing over and over again. It's like he takes the same song and just remakes it with different lyrics and a different rhythm.

Now would also be a good time to say- I know nothing about musical composition or song structure or any of that. Just not something I'm knowledgeable about. I know what music I like, and I know what I don't like, and I generally can articulate why. This blog is just me spouting off my opinions for no reason, just pissing in the wind.

  3. Call it as you see it, man. Or hear it in this case. This song is alright, and I hear you about bands following a formula to the ground.

  7. I enjoyed your post and the old ones too.
This band, I guess, looks more with Foo Fighters, than Metallica, but both are good, so there's no problem. haha

  8. Great dumb song but you are right, he is very formulaic. I saw Korn live recently and they suffer from the same thing, they've got a sound and a drum beat that work and their songs don't deviate from that.

  11. I still like him, though I do understand exactly what you're saying. I was won over in an instant when I heard "Gundam Rock". Now that album is not formulaic in the least, comparatively.

  13. YouTube keeps showing me this sing every once in a while of "Can't show embedded video, watch in YouTube". I don't know why it's happening, but it's annoying :S
