It's Burzday!

Today is the birthday of Varg Vikernes. For those of you who don't know- Varg is a black metal musician who was the sole member of black metal act Burzum and for a time was the bassist of Mayhem. That kind of ended when he killed the guitarist, Euronymous, by stabbing him twice in the head, five times in the neck, and sixteen times in the back. (Euronymous had been threatening to kill him for quite some time and had made a move to do it.)

After this murder he was convicted of murder and 4 counts of arson. He received a 21 year sentence of which he served 15.

The idea of Burzday being celebrated on his birthday came from a .gif someone made. This .gif is made of footage from the same documentary as the above video.

I don't remember exactly, but I think he was actually talking about people running to take their pills in prison.

And so... HAIL BURZUM! IT'S BURZDAY!

    Damn, stabbing someone that many times and then setting things on fire... doesn't get much more metal than that.

    I was surprised to see such a light sentence, and then noticed he was from Norway. I think the worst you can get there is like 25 years.

    I'd make the candles on his cake in the image of the structure he burned before his incarceration. I wonder if he'd blow it out or let it burn up, then make a wish.
