Christmas night I was driving from my friend's house back to my dorm when I finally got tired of listening to Live the Dream by Ramshackle Glory.
If I link to this image much more the band is going to kill me.
So, I popped it out of my stereo in my van. (Tape deck for the win!) Then I cringed and turned on the radio. I put it on the local "alternative" station.
There was a Papa Roach song on. Since when is that alternative? My ex-girlfriend listened to Papa Roach, and she had the most bland taste in music I have ever seen. She was like a whirlpool of failure to appreciate art.
SHE OWNED THIS ALBUM! SHE PAID MONEY FOR IT!
*AHEM!* Anyway, I skipped around stations for a while until I hit a station that seemed to be having some kind of celebration of classic rock musicians that still make music. Some new Ozzy, newer Alice Cooper, some stuff from Chinese Democracy. I'm okay with this. Then there was a track that really caught my attention. Dunno why, but I love this track by Sixx:A.M. (Which is the side project of Nikki Sixx, the bassist from Mötley Crüe.)
Sixx:A.M? hmm. i didnt know about that. i guess ill give it a listen just cause nikki sixx is in it.
ReplyDeleteCool blog following :) happy holidays
ReplyDeleteI have but one radio station that plays anything remotely close to that, and it's some show that only comes on once a week. I never catch it, screw the radio.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the radio?
ReplyDeleteRadio is okay. I like the fact that the songs I love I only hear when I want to. They never just randomly appear on the radio!
ReplyDeleteBut radio is good to hear new stuff and listen to hosts talk on about crap like boring youtube kids!
is it bad that this sixx a.m. just feels like a heavier version of nickelback?
ReplyDeletei dont wanna live on this planet anymore! Awesome blog keep up the storys!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit.
