A Band of Orcs!

So, every once in a while I fall in love with a band that wears costumes. When I was 14?

Hey, screw you! Ska is awesome!

Now obviously just superhero costumes couldn't interest me forever. So, when I was around 16 I found a band that... well, to this day still amuses me. And probably always will.

(GWAR MUST BE VIEWED AT FULL RESOLUTION! CLIIIIIICK!)

And so a few days ago while prowling the internet what to my wondering eyes should appear but another costumed band, and my quest was clear!

Okay, I've got to NOT do that EVER AGAIN. Anyway, the band is called A Band of Orcs and... that's what they do. They wear Orc costumes and play fantasy themed heavy-metal music. What more could you want from a band whose members are named Gogog Bloodthroat, Gronk!, Hulg ElfRipper, Cretos Filthgrinder, and Oog Skullcrusher?

Now, a lot of people would be turned off by the premise of a band of orcs that never appears out of costume, rarely breaks character, and is basically roleplaying on stage as being part of a clan of orcs. Me? No. A Band of Orcs is kind of like a Jason Statham movie. You're not disappointed because you know exactly what you're getting yourself into- and with A Band of Orcs it's D&D/Lord of the Rings/various other fantasy media themed lyrics, guttural screamed vocals, heavy and fast drumming, deep thrumming bass lines, long sometimes arrhythmic guitar solos, and just a good time.

So, here's my favorite track from their debut EP, Warchiefs of the Apocalypse.
